Mad Men is the portrayal of the most fun job America has ever had. It seems like you could get away with putting anything in the papers in America’s golden age compared to today’s standards. Even Santa Claus himself was not immune to selling cigarettes that didn’t give you a scratchy throat. He was party to some rather crude and strange behaviors in ads. Just look at the first one using all those hapless people to, I don’t know, stab victims with his giant pen of Christmas terror? And even Ol’ Saint Nick can’t help peering up a skirt every once in a while should the opportunity present itself.
